Primary 6 &7 are learning about The Vikings in their World Around Us classes. So their recent trip to The Navan
Centre in Armagh was a perfect complement to their historical studies. The children met up with Viking Olaf
who instructed them on how to use a range of deadly Norse weaponry.
The kids also got to experience the lives of the monks, who were victim to Viking savagery. They discovered
what it was like to work in a monastery's scriptorium and created some exquisite writing with quill and ink.
As usual, the staff at The Navan Centre were excellent, informative hosts and answered all the probing
questions that the children fired at them!!
