St. Oliver's celebrated St. Brigid's Day (1st February) with a very informative and fact-filled trip to the saint's birthplace, Faughart, Co. Louth.
Our Primary 5,6 and & 7 classes completed a wide ranging tour which included visiting the saint's shrine, St. Brigid's Well, the grave of Edward Bruce and the dolmen at Ballykeel.
This tour was led by local historian, the very knowledgeable Una Walsh. The kids loved all the stories she told and are looking forward to learning about more local history when she visits St. Oliver's again.
