'Climb Every Mountain.....'🎵
The P6/7 class wondered, 'What's on the other side of that hill behind our school'?
That question sparked some imaginative pieces of creative writing in our Literacy classes.
So eventually, on a sunny September afternoon, we decided to investigate what REALLY lay beyond St. Oliver's very
own 'Hill 16' !
We discovered that we have a excellent view of Slieve Gullion mountain and the surrounding countryside.
We couldn't resist flying down down the other side of the hill, clambering over several gates and making our
muddy way to the old Carrickrovaddy school... where some of our great grandparents attended.
The children had a lovely outdoor learning afternoon...you can't beat a bit of history and geography AND
physical exercise out in the fresh air !!!!
