Drumlin Wind Energy Co-op

12th Feb 2019

Pupils of St.Olivers P.S. had a chance to learn how energy is produced from a wind turbine. One of Drumlin's six turbines is close to the school and the pupils discovered just how important renewable sources of energy are, not only to the economy but also in helping to ensure a healthy environment. The children had the challenge of building a model turbine using materials provided. The pupils worked in groups designing and constructing their own model turbines. Peter McAlister and Colin Press from Drumlin Wind Energy Co-op were very impressed with their finished products.
